Description
Pangia World Expo 2026
Explore the Pangaea world of giant insects and various animals species that dominated the Earth between 300 and 250 million years ago, during the late Carboniferous and early Permian periods. Back then, our planet was inhabited by some truly enormous bugs.
This was the era of Pangaea, the supercontinent, when the environment was vastly different; the atmosphere contained nearly one-third more oxygen than it does today. This surplus of oxygen acted as a growth stimulant for insects, allowing them to reach sizes that are almost unimaginable in our time. Picture a dragonfly the size of an eagle and as long as a car—this was the norm in that age. It was a genuine land of giants, but for insects.
Join us on a journey back 300 million years to discover a range of insect and creature species from the Pangaea era and learn how they connect to modern insects and their vital role in our ecosystem.
This exhibition is perfect for all ages, including science enthusiasts and historians. We have meticulously recreated these larger-than-life bugs to spark public interest in the scientific community and to highlight the significance of insects in our food chain.
The exhibition is organized into 3 sections: Silver, Gold and Diamond
